“But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.
Deuteronomy 4:9
I read these verses a few days ago and was reminded of why I am compelled to write and why I am compelled to open my mouth and share how Christ has impacted my life. I do it for two reasons:
1. My own benefit. As they say in recovery, I do it to “keep things green.” I never want to forget where I used to be and where I am now. Never.
2. I also share in order pass these life changing lessons down to my son. So he, in turn, will pass it to his children.
I sometimes think of hope as the baton we carry through this race called life. We pass this baton from one generation to the next. It progresses on down the road and impacts and changes whoever grabs hold of it.
Don’t drop the baton. Keep going!
I think you’re right. Hope is truly what we pass along. For us, with our adopted kiddos, it’s that and healing. Love the version of the verse you chose for this. So compelling!
Hope and healing. I like that Laurie.
Love it, Eileen! Don’t drop the baton, pass it on! 🙂
