What do we really believe when our beliefs are put to the test? Last Sunday, this story about The Law of the Pendulum was shared to illustrate how we are often quick to say we believe something is true, but our actions always speak louder than words.
I read this pendulum story again this week and it reminded me of the dilemma so many of us struggle with when it comes to our faith. I thought about the story in Mark 9 when a father brought his demon possessed son to Jesus. His statement, acknowledging his lack of faith, has always resonated with me. “Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:24
Do we believe God is who He says He is? Do we believe God can do what His word tells us He can do?
Then, today, we need to stand firm when adversity swings our way and doubt threatens to shake us.
My pastor always said…Just Believe Him!…
How?…
They way you Believe taking an Aspirin is going to take your head ach away…
Simple…
I like that, Arny!
I love that Arny!!
Hi Eileen – my husband often says “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it” It that simple if we let it be. Please please put google friends connect on your blog. Pretty please! 🙂
God bless
Tracy
Amen! God wants us to have an “even if” kind of faith. We will believe, we will trust, and we will follow – even if . . . We must learn to see with our hearts instead of our just our eyes. Love this encouragement today, Eileen! 🙂
Great thoughts, Lisa! Thanks.
Thank you Eileen 🙂 🙂
Tracy
You’re welcome 🙂
I think a lot of our doubt and fear as Believers comes from the fact that we don’t believe God. Not that we don’t believe in Him, but believe Him, as in who He is and the fact He is faithful and will keep His promises!
Great reminder today!
We need to have a just believe attitude. This is great encouragement Eileen!
