Five Minute Friday: WHOLE
He cleans the whole house.
He is not a God who cuts corners.
His work is thorough.
He searches through every room and every drawer of our heart and asks us to discard the distractions.
We must make a choice, we must decide. And the cleaning and polishing continues.
Some rooms must be revisited.
Some rooms remain off-limits.
And so, He waits.
He waits until He hears…
Yes Lord, that room is yours too.
It always has been.
Please clean that one too.
We serve a God who doesn’t settle for half done.
His goal is all of us, every single room, our whole hearts.
“There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.”
Philippians 1:6 (Message)
Hello Eileen
This is very beautiful and thought-provoking. Yes, He doesn't settle for half-done! He is relentless in driving us higher to perfection.. its the only way we can be with Him, isn't it? My post is similar to yours in that.
God Bless!
love this! and I love that verse at the end. great perspective.
So true…being requires the whole our being. And no matter how many times we surrender, often there are places which need revisiting, newel and resurrendering. Great post!
This was my first 5 Minute Friday…it was a great exercise! 🙂
I love this Eileen!! I want God to clean all the drawers and corners of my heart. I want Him to completely cleanse me.
Beautifully written, Eileen. Why do we hold areas back? I'm so thankful that Jesus doesn't give us until He has all of us. He desires to make us whole. I cling to the verse in Philippians.
Your words express so beautifully what my own heart tried to articulate to me when I read the prompt for today. Thank you for reminding us that once cleaned,a revisit is sometimes in order~ and oh, so necessary!

Yes! Every room and our whole hearts surrendered to Him!! Thank you for your beautiful post…
Lyrics from a song I like..
Is there a place in your heart,
Where even you don't go?
You have some things hidden there…
That you don't want no one to know…
But He's handing you the keys,
With tears of love on His face.
And He wants to make you free,
Wants to go in your secret place.
It just ate my comment. 🙁
Will this work?
Duane, your comments ysteriously showed back up 🙂
Thanks guys. As I was writing this post today, I was reminded of a skit my church did several years ago of a lady talking to God and she had given Him permission to clean every room in her heart except one. It was a very powerful skit…as you can tell…it still comes to mind even 10 years later. 🙂
Hi Eileen – excellent analogy – Definitely some rooms in my heart that need revisiting and a good dust and polish.
Hope you have a great weekend
God bless
Tracy
