Good Morning!

Woke up early this morning with the words to this song on my heart. What a beautiful song to wake up to!

Come Thou Fount
David Crowder

Come Thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise

Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount I’m fixed upon it
Mount of Thy redeeming love

Here I raise my Ebenezer
Hither by Thy help I come
And I hope by Thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home

Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wandering from the fold of God
He, to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood

O to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love
Here’s my heart Lord, take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts above

He has given me a new song to sing,
a hymn of praise to our God. (Psalm 40:3 NLT)

I had always wondered what an 'Ebenezer' was, as you hear it in the name of churches across the land.

1 Samuel 7:12 tells us that, 'Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer saying, 'Thus far the Lord has helped us.'

Samuel followed Joshua's example of remembering the victories of God for His people with stone markers. (See Joshua 4)

Anyhow, that shows that the word 'Ebenezer' has some high significance…

    Blessings to you!

Wow… you read my mind. I was going to look that word up today to find out more about it! Thanks!
Blessings to you both as well 🙂
