He Waits

Like the father of the prodigal son, God can see repentance coming a great way off and is there to meet it, and the repentance is the reconciliation. ~Dorothy Sayers

I read this quote the other day and it made me smile.  It’s cool to think that in my serious running away days…God saw the ending.  God knew the exact moment when I would stop.  He always knew I would turn around.

I have often said that I think God is incredibly patient with us.  And, one reason for this is because He sees the beautiful bigger picture. He sees the life changing decision that we can’t see yet.

He sees us running back to Him.  He sees us running home.  The light is on, the door is open, dinner is in the oven, and there’s a warm fire burning in the fireplace.  And He waits.

Thank you, Lord, for waiting.
