I Have A Friend…

It’s Friday! Which means it’s time from another link up with the Gypsy Mama. Five Minute Friday is “a time when we just write for 5 minutes on a specific topic not worrying whether everything is just right.” If you would like to join in CLICK HERE.

Topic: On Friends

I have a friend who calls pumpkins…puNKins.
Every time I pass by the roadside pumpkin stands, this friend fills my heart and the thought of her brings a smile to my face.

I have a friend who saves my funny voice mails and tells me she listens to them when she needs a good laugh. I think that’s a compliment.

I have a friend who was there with me during the darkest season of my life. I remember her arms wrapped tight around me as I wept. No words necessary, her presence was enough.

I have a friend, who I also call husband, he’s seen me on my ugly days and somehow has resisted the urge to relocate to the corner of the rooftop. 😉 (Proverbs 25:24)

I have a friend (many friends) who love to play Scrabble with me online.
I have yet to meet several of these friends face to face.
Our only connection is a love for the Lord and a love for words.
I would be overjoyed for the opportunity to sit down and chat with each of them while sipping a cup of coffee.

Friends Rock!

I love this- "I have a friend who saves my funny voice mails and tells me she listens to them when she needs a good laugh. I think that's a compliment." I thought I was the only one that did that! Just stopping through from the Gypsy Mama!

Eileen, you truly fit in my group of wonderful friends I have never met. And if I had any of your voice mails, I would certainly save them. 🙂 I'm thankful for your insight into God's Word and your transparent heart. I'm also thankful that you let me play Scrabble with you. 😉 Many blessings, sweet friend!

They really do rock! What a great poem and ode to the people who love you. Those people need to know every day how important they are to us. Love that you took these 5 minutes to do just that! And thanks for coming by my blog today too. It's so fun to hear your heart there. Blessings!

Eileen, I have no doubt the reason you have so many special friends is because you are a wonderful friend. So thankful we can hang out here online! (btw – I love to play Words With Friends. I'm shan-meister)

    Eileen,

I love your post on friends today, I have a small circle of in real life friends, and my sweet bloggy friends that I may never meet in this lifetime but I look forward to sitting down to a good cup of coffee with them in heaven, I am convinced God has coffee in heaven. Thank you, friends! I think what I love most about 5 minute Friday is it often prompts me to count my blessings all over again. Have a great weekend!

Hi Eileen – I enjoyed your post today. My husband too is my closest friend and I'm sure if our roof were flat he may have found himself a spot there over the years. I am grateful to the Lord for him and his friendship and his long-suffering 🙂
    Great post
    God bless
    Tracy
