What mighty praise, O God,
belongs to you in Zion.
We will fulfill our vows to you,for you answer our prayers.
All of us must come to you.Though we are overwhelmed by our sins,
you forgive them all. What joy for those you choose to bring near,
those who live in your holy courts.
What festivities await us
inside your holy Temple. Psalm 65: 1-4 NLT
After reading these verses the other morning the first thing that popped into my mind was a song. I blame it on the way the New Living Translation interprets David’s words in vs.4.
What festivities await us inside your holy temple.
I read this verse and silently started singing, “Celebrate good times come on! We’re gonna celebrate and have a good time.”
And then my next thought: Oh, Lord, it’s 5:00 in the morning, I’m drinking coffee, reading your Word, and singing Kool & the Gang.
And somehow, Lord, you still choose to love me. 😉
What fascinates me is how God knew long before David even penned this Psalm that there would one day be a woman reading His Word and having this odd response.
Do you ever think about that? God’s Word says He had you on His mind even before the foundation of the world (Eph 1:4). Which means that even before Scripture was Scripture God was thinking about you. He knew which verses would make you cry, which ones would make you smile, which ones would bring you comfort on your darkest day and which ones would bring you to your knees in surrender. He knew!
This blows my mind when I think about it.
And, it makes me want to celebrate all over again!
Celebrate good times come on! We’re gonna celebrate and have a good time.

This made me smile:) A great way to start the day!
🙂
This is what gives me solace on most days, this knowledge of knowing us before we were even created. It makes me realize that anything I worry about is just like chaff in the wind, its insignificant in light of his omnipresence. And Deidra Riggs would love that disco ball btw!
It IS a comfort know this Truth!
Eileen, I will be singing this song all day now. Thanks. 😉 Beautiful post!
It’s a happy one!
Love this! I am jammin out with my green tea too! Btw-on my second cup friend :). Yes, Eph. 1:4 is such an awesome verse…so thankful for God’s wisdom and sovereignty! Praying that you continue to sing throughout this beautiful day!
2 cups?…slow down girl! I hope you savored them both!
You made me laugh today Eileen. 🙂 Yes, it is amazing to think about how intimately God knows us and how much joy He has in His creation. How humbling and amazing and awe-inspiring! How great is our God. Blessings on you today, my sister. Thankful to go Into the Beautiful with you today. 🙂
