Prompt: JUMP Son jumping from high dive
I have to admit the first idea that crossed my mind today when I saw Lisa-Jo’s word was Jump by Van Halen…might as well jump…go ahead and jump! You can take the girl out the 80s but you can’t take the 80s out of the girl.
Then, I started thinking about the times in my life when I finally starting taking some leaps of faith, those pivotal moments when I started living as if God was big enough to catch me when I let go. Amazing things have happened in my life each time I’ve made the choice to trust Him with the scary.
There was the time I jumped, He caught me, took me by the hand, and He showed me that spacious place David talks about in the Psalms.
There was the time I jumped and decided to pick up a pen. He showed me how much joy could be created by stringing words together on paper.
There were the times I jumped and He put me on a plane. As I rolled paint on a school wall and chased kids around an orphanage in the Dominican Republic, He showed me the meaning of life.
“You’ve got to jump off cliffs and build your wings on the way down.”~Ray Bradbury
“Amazing things have happened in my life each time I’ve made the choice to trust Him with the scary.” Whoa Nellie! May we all remember the amazing things that happen when we trust so we keep on jumping!

Yes, remembering His faithfulness helps us continue to jump!
Enjoyed this.
Love me some Van Halen!!! Glad you jumped with your pen in hand. Beautiful.
Yes, Amen! Sometimes you have to jump, so you can not necessarily fall, but soar. 🙂
Yes, love how that works.
I have the same song running through my mind!
I love the picture of you son! We always take pictures of the jump but not the splash!
Be Blessed.
Love the photo of your son diving, Eileen. Brave boy! He has a brave mum too as she is not afraid to go places God calls her to go, even if she has to build her wings “on the way down” as most of us do. Thanks for sharing some more of your life experiences, faith, and great writing today. Bless you 🙂 xx
Thanks, Joy. I was amazed that he really didn’t hesitate. He just jumped. A good reminder for me. So often I hesitate from fear before taking that jump.
Cheering for you! Keep jumping!
