Linking up with the Gypsy Mama today. Five Minute Friday is “a time when we just write for 5 minutes not worrying whether everything is just right.”CLICK HERE.
(Philippians 1:9 NLT)
Keep on growing
Like a seed needing water
I need Him
Like a baby needing milk
I need Him
I often make growing up in Christ
much more complicated than it should be.
I. need. Him.
Earlier this week, I read this quote from Pete Wilson
“I’m broken. I need Jesus. The End.”
To grow up in Christ does not mean we do more in an attempt to earn His love. Growing up in Christ means we rest more and more in the knowledge that there is nothing, absolutely nothing, we can do to earn this love. His love for us simply is.
As we grow in the knowledge of this love, we become more dependent on Him.
Our grip becomes tighter
Our cries more frequent
Our knees more worn
And we love
because He first loved us
Love this Eileen. We do make growing in Him so much harder than it needs to be!
Love this look on GROW! I need Him!
Love this song! My kids have a picture with the lead singer from when they met him. 🙂
"Growing up in Christ means we rest more and more in the knowledge that there is nothing, absolutely nothing, we can do to earn this love. His love for us simply is."
Speechless Eileen…
Awesome!
No words I could add or take a way from that statement!
Sooo good.
God Bless and have a great weekend!
Neediness and growth. So beautiful how they go hand in hand. I appreciate you shining the spotlight on that truth.
Pete Wilson's quote sums it all up. Great post, Eileen. So glad to be growing along side of you.
Blessings!

I love that quote — sure does simplify things, yes?
Beautifully said. Thanks for sharing.
I love this, Eileen! Growing up in Christ means less trying to earn His love and more resting in the knowledge that His love never fails. I need Him. That is all. Great post!!
Hi Eileen – you have inspired me to do this friday 5 minute thing. I love how you put 'growing' together. Great post
God bless
Tracy
Eileen,
I.need.Him.
I can feel myself growing more already. Love the way you took growing right back to the source of our growth-
Love it!
