Yesterday my brother and I laughed hard at something that wasn’t funny but it was funny.
I love those instances in life when the tension and seriousness lifts and laughter breaks out.
I can’t imagine the difficult seasons in life without these moments of joy.
Sometimes you just need to laugh.
Today, I am thankful for the gift of laughter. I am thankful for the family and the friends in my life who I have been able to laugh with through the hard stuff. It really is a blessing.
I was reminded of this sad/funny scene from Steel Magnolias. It was one of my mom’s favorite movies.
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter
and your lips with shouts of joy. (Job 8:21)
What about you? Can you recall a moment in time when you experienced the gift of laughter despite the circumstances?
That is a great scene! So glad you and your bros have been able to laugh, it is reviving.
Thanks, Loretta. It really is a great scene.
Yes. This is so horrifying and sounds terrible… But in the week of our move last fall, while waiting to miscarry (we found out the day before our move), when my hubby and I cried and cried until utter exhaustion – many times, we would finally just look up at each other and start laughing a bit because we didn’t know what else to do. We were spent.
That’s exactly what I’m talking about, Kerry. Sometimes our hearts just need to laugh. I am so thankful for this too.
It definately good to have a knee slapping moment as much as possible!:) Steel Magnolias is one of my favs too! Julia Roberts grew up just down the street from me in GA!
