Hello! If you happen to be visiting from OneWord365 you will need to click HERE to read this year’s post on my One Word: small. Thanks for stopping by!
Well, after much pondering and soul searching, I’ve finally picked my One Word for 2014. The one concept that keeps coming back to me is this desire to find more creative ways to love more this year. Yet, the word love didn’t seem like the word I was supposed to choose. It’s more than that. It’s the fruit of loving others. When we choose to love, we choose to validate.
There’s my word. VALIDATE
This year, I want to focus more attention on acknowledging others.
I want to take the time to extend overflowing acceptance and appreciation.
I want others to feel seen. I want others to feel heard.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered this great shirt from People of the Second Chance.
It’s quickly become one of my favorite shirts. It makes me want to do a little happy dance just like my Storyline “Story Matters” shirt. 🙂
Today, while I was wearing this shirt, I was reminded of my One Word. When we choose to love others, beautiful things happen. People feel welcomed. People feel included. People feel seen. People feel validated.
Great word Eileen!
Your thoughts go right along with mine to which I picked the word HONOR. I talked about validation in my post but felt the word honor was mine. I think the two go together.
Love the shirt 🙂
My one word- WORSHIP – as in Worship Him in thought, word and deed.
WORSHIP as a lifestyle.
Befitting for 2014.
Love it!
Good word
Love the new word Eileen.
Looking forward to seeing where this word takes you Eileen!
Thanks for the validation guys! 🙂
Great word, Eileen!
I’m leaning towards the word – FINISH – for 2014.
Eileen, my word for this year is “perspective”. I honestly wanted another word but God kept gently pushing this one into my mind with everything I read or heard. I wanted a gentle word, a more spiritual sounding word…oh my there are three “I” in my short comment. Good to know who is behind our word for this year.
P.S. I love the picture on your header…peaceful to look upon.
It’s a great word, Eileen. I love it! You have something unusual here and really important for the well-being of others. We all need to feel validated. Mine is ‘Listen’ and that may reap a lot of fruit too in the months to come. Keep us posted how you get on with this one word! Blessings 🙂 x
Awesome!!!
Mine is ENCOURAGE 🙂
Great word! I think encouraging is definitely a form of validating. I like it!
Love this word choice of yours, Eileen. I think you’ll rock it. 🙂
