Today, I am linking up with Tracy over at Winsome Wednesday. She has challenged us to create an acrostic for our One Word.
My word for this year is FORWARD. You can read about my decision for choosing this word HERE. I am so glad Tracy asked us to do this. It forced me to admit that even though it’s only March, I’ve let the ball get away from me. I’ve become frustrated, scared of the unknown, and distracted in many areas. Time to retrieve the ball and continue the journey toward the goal.
Fear Not
Open eyes fully
Rely on Him
Watch out for distractions
Appreciate the journey
Rest
Do the work
“So here’s what I think: The best thing you can do right now is to finish what you started last year and not let those good intentions grow stale. Your heart’s been in the right place all along. You’ve got what it takes to finish it up, so go to it. Once the commitment is clear, you do what you can, not what you can’t. The heart regulates the hands.” 2 Corinthians 8:10-11
Do you have a One Word this year? How are you doing with it?
Finish…
Friending Others- Non Believers
Increasing Him and decreasing me.
Non Negotiable scripture.
Increasing Him More in life
Serving
Helping
Great acrostic, Arny!
Hi Eileen – Your word and your acrostic is awesome. I think I’m going to open a tag and put links to those who accepted the challenge because so far, i’ve seen great stuff. And your previous commenter has left a great one too
God bless
Tracy 🙂
ps: I love the now and then tweet greets!
Tracy, your post was a great idea! I enjoyed the challenge.
I love our tweet greets too!
I am thinking about my acrostic, too. And I have let the ball get away from me as well. Praying that you would continually move forward in any direction God takes you. Much love, friend.
Thanks, Jen. It’s so easy to get distracted. Look forward to reading yours!
I don’t feel like I have anything to catch up on from last year but goal setting is new to me. For this year it would be things like: GIVE. My life gets so busy I forget to slow down and listen to the people around me.
Grow my yoga business
Invest in Others
Vacation with my Husband
Eliminate extra time wasters.
Nice one, Bethany. Eliminate extra time wasters…wish I’d had an “E” so I could use that! Good one.
I’m in the same boat Eileen. My word for the year is Focus and I must admit that I have already lost my focus. I love your acrostic! What a great idea Tracy had!
Many blessings dear friend 🙂
Lisa, Focus is a great word. Yes, Tracy’s idea was a good one.
Hi Eileen – i have set up a page on my blog called “Acrostic Word Challenge” Its a linky until the end of the year. I’d love for you to link this post there and if you have any other words you want to play with 🙂
Look forward to seeing you there!
God bless
Tracy
Hey Tracy, I haven’t forgotten about this will hopefully get it done this weekend!
My word this year is CHOSEN. I’ve lived for years with this belief that sure, I am a believer in Christ….but I didn’t really belong there. Kind of lingering on the outskirts of a elite group of special people in God’s inner circle, but not really belonging there. …when in actuality, God is inviting me to dive in, head long, with completeness. Because He chose me.
C~ Carefully selected and
H~ Hand picked from a collection of
O~ Others to be
S~ Seen as Special.
E~ Even when the world sees me as a
N~ Nobody, I know I am HIS.
I love this Jennifer! It goes so well with our bible study too! Thanks for sharing it.
Love this idea! 🙂
It’s a good one!
Will have to be thinking of my own acrostic, but yours is definitely one to write down and remember.
Debbie, it was fun to do! Got me excited about my one word all over again.
