Real Women Real Faith

Our ladies group is going through the study Real Women Real Faith. Last week we learned that we are not so different from Eve. We are tempted to take our focus off of truth and off God’s Word and search for other enticing things to fill us up. We were reminded of the danger of “wanting the things of this world more than the will of God.” This week we are learning about Rebekah…her strength, her endurance, her courage, her weaknesses, her failures, her humanness.

Here is a quote I read this morning:

“The truth is that, like Rebekah, we all are women of great strength and profound weaknesses. Rather than glossing over our failures and trying to fit our lives into a predefined understanding of what makes a godly woman, the story of Rebekah teaches us that God uses all kinds of women to accomplish his purposes. None of us fit the stereotype, if we are willing to take an honest look at who God has made us to be.” ~ Real Women Real Faith

You definitely spoke to me this morning. As you know I lost my focus recently, not necessarily the thingsof this world, but lost focus on the truth, the truth of who God made me to be. God did make me to fit the mold, He made me to be who He intended for me to be.

I tend to want to compare myself to other woman. But God made me and is using me – just the way I am. I don't have to become someone else. Thanks for this encouragement.

Love that! We gals at the P31 office hear hearts swollen with disappointment from women who have a notion / expectation of what a Godly woman is, but feel they aren't able to fill her shoes/home/life.

Got to share this truth with these sweet souls! Thanks for sharing this snippet :0
