Reflections at 30,000 Feet

Ever notice how when you are flying in a plane at 30,000 feet you tend to become more reflective?

I wonder why that is?

I’m guessing it’s because we’re strapped into a seat, in a container going 500 mph and  looking down on the clouds.  But, that’s just my guess.

Perhaps, if I knew anything at all about airplanes this ability wouldn’t baffle me so much.  But every time I step into a plane and watch us lift up off the ground, I am baffled and humbled.  I’m not sure how it happens, but I love that it does.

I read the following verse this morning and had a similar response in my heart:

The moment I called out, you stepped in; you made my life large with strength. Psalm 138:3 Message

It’s been years since that pivotal time in my life when I cried out to Him and He stepped into my darkness and into my pit.   And, somehow, he managed to get me up off the ground and fly me above the clouds.  I now look down at where I was…baffled and humbled.

He did it!   I’m still not sure how.  I just know He did.
