Share A Song Monday

Welcome to Share A Song Monday. It’s a tradition on The Scenic Route to share a song on Monday. I can use the word “tradition” now, cause today marks the second consecutive Monday I have done it. 😉

So, here is my song. It’s from The Civil Wars. I heard it for the first time a couple months ago. This song puts a smile on my lips and prompts my heart to dance.

Oh, the desert dreams of a river
that will run down to the sea
like my heart longs for an ocean
to wash down over me.

Oh, won’t you take me from this valley
to that mountain high above?
I will pray, pray, pray
until I see your smiling face.

I will pray, pray, pray
to the one I love.

Oh, the outcast dreams of acceptance,
just to find pure love’s embrace
like an orphan longs for his mother.
May you hold me in your grace.

Won’t you take me from this valley
to that mountain high above?
I will pray, pray, pray
until I see your smiling face.
I will pray, pray, pray
to the one I love.

Oh, the caged bird dreams of a strong wind
that will flow ‘neath her wings.
Like a voice longs for a melody,
oh, Jesus carry me.

Won’t you take me from this valley
to that mountain high above?
I will pray, pray, pray
until I see your smiling face.
I will pray, pray, pray
to the one I love.

I will pray, pray, pray
until I see your smiling face.
I will pray, pray, pray
to the one I love.

Now, it’s your turn! In the comments section of this post, leave a link to a song you have been enjoying lately. My reasoning behind sharing songs here is similar to the Give A Penny Take A Penny concept. You leave a song…and someone else comes along and picks it up. It might be that one treasure that makes another heart dance today.

Thanks!

While it's not a new song, this past Friday was the first time I've heard it and it's been "in my head" ever since. The song is "The One Thing" by Paul Colman :

I passed it by the Praise Team at church on Sunday for possible use in worship. 🙂

    Have a Blessed Day!

Great songs, guys! Enjoyed the first two on my lunch break and just listened to the last one this evening while sipping my coffee. 🙂 Thank you for sharing them!

Eileen – we LOVE The Civil Wars. And that song is one of my favorites from them. I don't have a good song link to share, but "This Little Light of Mine" is one I sing to my son very regularly. 🙂
