O Lord my God,
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all The works
Thy Hand hath made,
I see the stars,
I hear the mighty thunder,
Thy pow’r throughout
The universe displayed;

I watch his lips. I listen to his voice. I look at his hand gestures and his legs pace around the office floor. I hear about life from his seven year old perspective. I look at those legs once more. They have grown so much. I think about how those legs once formed inside of me. I think of how I used to snuggle up behind my husband in bed and allow our little ones feet to kick gently on my husband’s back first thing in the morning. Now, those same legs pace the floor beside me as I sip my morning coffee. Those legs, still so eager to experience life.

When I in awesome wonder
Consider all The works
Thy Hand hath made,

I hear the mighty thunder,
Thy pow’r throughout
The universe displayed;
This was the thought that first filled my mind when I saw the topic of wonder. It made me smile. What a great song to have sweep over you first thing in the morning. Reflecting on creation always has a way of making my heart overflow with gratitude. I can look at a sunset like this one and be reminded of the God who created me and loves me.
Or, I can listen to this little boy share with me his thoughts and his ideas.

Today, I am linking up with The Gypsy Mama and participating in Five Minute Friday. The topic today is WONDER. If you would like to link up click HERE

There's no better way to say it than with the words of that old hymn. How great is our God! I am filled with wonder. Have a blessed weekend, Eileen. 🙂
One of the reasons I love teaching is because of how much I love the hearing about life from the perspective of a child. Great five minute post.
Love that old hymn…those legs too!
Love that! I love clouds. Yesterday I watched the clouds in wonder for a better part of the day. They just make me think of awesome God is and how He created every little thing. Great post.
Wonderful post Eileen, sometimes we can get so busy in our lives that we can forget to stop and take in the slendor God has created for us to enjoy. I love listening to children's perspectives, it is so innocent and pure not yet tainted by the realities of the world we as adults have tasted.
Blessings to you Eileen.
Oh I love that song.
Brings tears to my eyes.
So many mornings I walk through my gardens and am just amazed at all the wonderful things God has done without anyone noticing.

Hi Eileen. That is also a favourite hymn for me. We never hear those anymore. Its amazing how fast our children grow. My oldest, 18, my baby, 16. Apart from driving me nuts they have taught me a lot and are a huge blessing. Keep snapping away with your camera to save all those memories!
God bless
Tracy
This was beautiful Eileen. I see so much of God's love in the eyes and actions of my children. 🙂
Have a Blessed Weekend Dear Lady!
A beautiful entry… it brought me into a sense of wonder even as I was reading it, and I thought of two little legs that haven't been walking on their own for long at all. Thanks for these words. 🙂
Oh yes, that eagerness to experience life. Love it!
