The Doorway to Plenty

plenty

Perhaps was the word on my heart during a large part of my run on Saturday. This word, especially the two instances that I immediately recalled from Scripture,  is packed full of hope.

“Perhaps the Lord will help us. Nothing can keep the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few.” 1 Samuel 13:6

“Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.” Esther 4:14

I love the endless possibilities of perhaps. I love the faithfulness of perhaps.  I love the humble confidence and reverent dependency of perhaps. Perhaps doesn’t have all the answers. Perhaps is not presuming. Perhaps is not arrogant.

I want to live life in the realm of perhaps.

I want to live in that constant state of hope-filled understanding that He is Lord over our lack and our limitations.

Perhaps is the door to His plenty.

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

This is one of my top 5 verses, Eileen, and one I clung to and prayed at least a thousand times while at New Community…okay, perhaps two thousand times…

Thank you for sharing these beautiful thoughts, Miss Eileen! So often us humans are fearful of the “perhaps”. We want clear answers. But it seems that God doesn’t usually answer quickly. He often has us wait, and humbly seek His face, and reveals more of His plans for us only through seeking His face day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment. Perhaps that’s what “abiding” is. 🙂

P.S. I have nominated you for the “Quote Challenge”. If you’d like to participate, simply post 3 quotes a day for 3 days in a row and nominate 3 other bloggers each time. 🙂

Hope you’re having a blessed day! ~ Joy
