I’ve come to believe that I might have a secret, unconscious phobia of dishwasher machines. If not the whole machine I definitely have some sort of fear of the latch that closes the machine and the wash button on the front.
I can’t tell you how many times I stand filling my dishwasher and think to myself, the machine is getting full…I must turn it on when I finish. Next morning I awake and there sits the unlatched machine full of unwashed dirty dishes. Why do I have such a hard time remembering to do such a simple thing?
I was trying to think of a good life lesson about how this could possibly relate to God’s love for us and here’s what struck me.
Aren’t you glad God didn’t forget about us?
He saw our uncleanliness, our messiness and he didn’t just think to Himself…I must do something about that. He took action. He knew the way to make us beautiful and usable again and He followed through with His plan!
“Sing a new song to the Lord,
for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
The Lord has made his salvation known
and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
He remembered his love and his faithfulness
to the house of Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.” (Psalm 98: 1-3)
