The Truth About Your Biggest Sins

“Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me.” Acts 26:16

This is Jesus talking to Paul after his biggest most horrific failures.  Don’t you love it?  Paul had just been made aware that for years he had been journeying in the wrong direction.  He was guilty of persecuting the One responsible for ultimately saving his life.  He had royally screwed up over and over.  He had caused enormous amounts of pain and suffering to many people along the way.

And, you know what Jesus doesn’t do when Paul’s heart is finally receptive to the Truth? Jesus doesn’t tell him to throw a pity party for a while or to spend time licking his wounds for all his wrong turns.  Nor does Jesus tell Paul to sufficiently beat himself up for a few years because of all the ugly sins he committed in the past.

Instead, Jesus says something crazy and beautiful.  Jesus says something that He desires to say to each and every one of us too:  Get up, I choose you and we have work to do!

Do you feel you’ve gone too far in the wrong direction?  Do you think your sin is too big for God to forgive?  Do think you don’t have the strength to get up and keep journeying down the road?

Then you need to pause and hear this Truth today.  Quiet your heart, open your ears, and listen for the voice calling out to you in the dark.

Get up, I choose you and we have work to do!

On this road of life, we will never encounter a greater love than that!

I also loved it. As often as I “slip up” there are times I wonder will this be the time He say’s “nope no more?” I can rejoice in knowing there’s NOTHING that will take my away from My God! Paul is a wonderful example of that

LOVE THIS, Eileen!! “Get up, I choose you and we have work to do”! I’m going to post this by my desk so I can remember that I’m a disciple of His and I have work assigned to me that He needs me to do.
