Apparently, Sean’s cousin has seven pairs of underwear that have the days of the week printed on them. Not too long ago, she was visiting her Grandma and suddenly became aware of a slight dilemma part way through her day.
“Grandma, what day is it?”
“Thursday”
“Uh-oh.”
“What’s wrong?” Her Grandma asked.
“I’ve got Friday’s panties on.”
Ever felt like you were walking around your day wearing next week’s panties…or next year’s panties?
I wonder, if adults started to wear undergarments with the days of the week printed on them, if it would help us to live in the moment, to not worry so much about the unknown of tomorrow, or next week, or next year. We miss so much of what it means to really live when we constantly worry about what is around the corner.
I have always loved this quote from Elizabeth Elliott.
So today, as I pick out clothes to wear from my dresser drawer of life, I am planning on wearing my undies for today…Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Hope you can find yours too!
