20 years ago today

20 years ago today, my mom went home to be with the Lord. I’ve written many posts about my mom since starting this blog 2 years ago this August. Her faith and deep love for her Savior touched my heart in so many ways.

I once wrote a post sharing the good-bye letter I found tucked in her Bible after her death. What I didn’t share in that post were the five songs she had written on the back of her letter to us. These were some of my mom’s favorite hymns and ones we chose to play at her memorial service. I’ve shared each song below.

The other night, I sat and listened to all of them again on YouTube. I hadn’t heard a couple of the songs in many, many years. It was nice.

When you have a chance, take a couple minutes to enjoy one of the songs. I hope the words touch your heart as they did mine.

It Is Well With My Soul…but with a slight twist It Is Well

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Day by Day

He Giveth More Grace

I love you, Mom! Keep singing with Jesus. I’ll join you soon. 🙂

Your mom had great taste in music, I love every one of these songs, Amazing Grace is my favorite, it was my grandmothers favorite and it has long been my favorite.

    Blessings to you today.

She did, didn't she! I love Amazing Grace and It Is Well With My Soul. I also still remember standing next to my mom in church and singing Day By Day 🙂

All great songs, Eileen. Of course I didn't know your mother, but it makes my heart happy to think of her singing with Jesus. 🙂

Thanks for sharing this post. So glad she knows Him and is walking with Him!

Those songs you mentioned are wonderful testimonies of His grace.

My Mom also passed away in July, but in 1995. She is also rejoicing before the Lord, and perhaps has met your Mom as well..

Karl, I often think about that when I hear of friends who have lost loved ones. We have never met. But they have!
