butterfly landing on flower

Last night as I slept I found myself boarding a city bus. Some how my mind knew I was some place in Atlanta.  Because we have friends and family who live in the Atlanta area, we’ve driven through this city a few times.  However, no landmark in my dream looked familiar.

As I stepped on the bus Take Me Into the Beautiful by Cloverton started to play on my iPod. I sat down toward the rear of the bus in a seat facing backwards and watched as the bus carried me by each unfamiliar street.

I wasn’t sure why I was on the bus. I had no idea where I was going. Two questions played tug-of-war with my thoughts. Do I ride it to the end of the line?  Do I get off at the next stop?

Considering the current changes going on in our life, I can see how my mind would create such a scenario. So many unknowns are still looming ahead of us.

As I thought about this dream, a quote from Corrie Ten Boom came to mind. “When the train goes through a tunnel and the world gets dark, do you jump out? Of course not. You sit still and trust the engineer to get you through.”

I’m not sure yet where the bus is headed. I’m not sure where it will stop next.  But today I’m choosing to trust the driver.  He’ll get us there safely…and right on time.

Thanks Eileen for this word, it was what I needed. Although my life has been a series of hard places, our next chapter has been so easy to step into because of God’s provision. A couple of days ago a very small kink was thrown in and because things have been so easy lately it really upset me, It is all a journey and I know that God is not gonna give up at this point in getting us where He wants us. He is going to finish what He has started! I’ve got to trust Him completely through this semi-dark short tunnel! Bless you!

Thank you for sharing a piece of your journey, Evie Jo. It’s weird how easily I can feel rattled when, like you said, a kink seems to be thrown into the middle of things. And, yes! He is faithful to bring us through!

Yes, I tend to discover so many lessons tucked away in a dream. Perhaps God knows my tendency to be a backseat driver are limited while I’m asleep.;)

I kind of like adventure myself. Travelocity used to have a “mystery weekend’ trip. You committed to buying a plane ticket/hotel for a set amount of money. And then you would show up at the airport and learn the destination there.

Next best thing is to get on the bus, gus, and “set yourself free”
