I’ve always loved this quote. I have no clue as to what the context was when Groucho Marx first coined it. Coming from Marx, I would just have to assume he was being comical and yet the statement is packed with so much truth. Broken, blemished, flawed, imperfect, cracked people are beautiful. I love how God is able to take our messy lives (mine included) and transform them into something amazing. He is able to take our deepest hurts, our biggest mistakes and our greatest fears and exchange them all with overflowing amounts of comfort, grace, and peace. His light heals our cracks. We simply have to acknowledge that the cracks are there.
and I’m thanking you with all my heart.
You pulled me from the brink of death,
my feet from the cliff-edge of doom.
Now I stroll at leisure with God
in the sunlit fields of life. (Psalm 56: 12-13 MSG)
