Revisit, Remember, Rejoice

I heard something yesterday that I loved. Our Pastor did a message at church on things we can do to keep our relationship with the Lord fresh. One piece of advice was to make some alters in our life-to have things in our life that remind us of who God is and what He has done. I loved the examples he used to explain this to us. I am paraphrasing here:

I wonder if Peter ever took his boat back out to the spot where he walked on water with Jesus?

I wonder if Moses ever went back to visit that burning bush?

I wonder if Paul ever revisited that portion of road on his way to Damascus where God changed his life?

I love remembering how God has changed my life and I think writing is one way I revisit the alter. Remembering, reminds me to be grateful. It reminds me of how small I am and how big He is. I love hearing how God has worked in other peoples lives too- people today and people in Scripture. I love reading the Psalms. David did a lot of remembering. He was constantly revisiting his alters.

Revisit, Remember, Rejoice

Take a good look at God’s wonders— they’ll take your breath away. (Psalm 66:5 MSG)
