Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone…My First Vlog

Today, inspired by some blogging friends, I’ve posted my first ever video blog. Please forgive all the “umms”. And, in case you didn’t pick up on the fact that I was nervous, I made sure to point it out to you all halfway through. I probably broke Public Speaking Rule #1 by admitting this to you…oh well.  Picturing all of you in your underwear didn’t help at all either. 😉 .

But, seriously, the Lord placed a message on my heart today. I share some lessons I’ve learned along the journey. I hope it in encourages someone…

As I was recording, Hide, an older song from Joy Williams popped into my brain.

Jen from Finding Heaven was one of the bloggers who inspired me to do this. Linking this post up with her today for her Across the Kitchen Table series.

Good job Eileen. your message would have been worth listening to after your run. You didn’t even need to take a shower, etc. 🙂 So glad He was your “mouse hole.”

Thanks for taking the time to watch, Bill. It ran a little longer than anticipated. Nowadays, that mouse hole kind of reminds me of the narrow road Jesus talks about.

Loved your vlog! Loved seeing and hearing you and your realness…(Is that a word?) 🙂
I was talking and sharing with a homeless man last night who said he was giving up on himself. He is such a sweet, sweet man but caught so deep into addiction with alcohol. I shared about Christ with him and prayed with him. I was looking for scriptures to share with him this morning and you led me to those. Thank you! I will be sharing with him again. If you don’t mind, would you please pray for Mike as he is shared with again?
Thank you for being real today. I know it will be so encouraging to others!
    Blessings to you~

Oh Eileen, I LOVE this vlog! You are just such a beautiful woman inside and out and your love for Jesus radiates through you. Thank you for this transparent message and sharing your heart with us.

I have been doing vlogs for W2W for six or so months and I still get nervous, mess up and do dozens of retakes! My last vlog, my dog decided to pick up his bed with his mouth and carry it through the room. He’d toss it up in the air and catch it and was wrestling with it. I tried so hard to not pay attention then I lost it laughing to hard! Took another three takes to stop the giggles! 🙂

Thanks Jenifer. You do great job with your vlogs. You were another blogger who inspired me to try one! It’s weird how nervous you can get just looking into a web cam…crazy. 🙂

Awe, friend-BRAVO! I ditto what Jennifer, Lauri and the others have already said. Do not hide you anymore! We need your voice, whether written or spoken sister. Be blessed 🙂

“All of us are on a journey to healing.” <– This is so important to remember about myself AND others around me.

I have a magnet on my refrigerator that says, "Please be patient; God is finished with me yet." Works in progress!

    Good job vlogging, Eileen!

Loved your vlog, Eileen! After months of reading your kind & gentle words that always leave me encouraged & challenged, it was refreshing to see & hear you speak. And that same kind & gentle spirit that flows through your written words came through as you spoke. 🙂

This is the first step to sharing more VLOG’s. I love video because it engages people with who you are. We can see you facial expressions and everything and it makes for a more engaging experience. Love the fact that you shared your message this way.
