Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (James 1:2-3)

Trials. Goodness, I honestly hate them. Was that too honest?? I know what James said about trials and when I am not going through one, it sounds just dandy to have his perspective. But, when we find ourselves smack dab in the middle of them it is hard enough to embrace them…let alone embrace them with a joyful perspective. And yet, that is how we are supposed to approach the trials in our lives.

Over the past couple weeks, I have yelled about my current trial, cried about my current trial and laughed about my current trial. There’s something oddly amusing about getting to that point in a trial when all I can do is laugh. Not because it’s funny but because sometimes I just need to laugh!

I do have to say that one thing I feel God has been trying to ingrain in me is my need for Him. When I feel like grumbling, I need to run to Him and cling to His promises. When I feel like crying, I need to cry out to Him. When I feel like getting angry, I need to come to Him and talk to Him about it.

I need Him. He is the only solution to my trials.

I just listened to a sermon on this verse this morning. Your last paragraph is wonderful and so true! Amen! He is the only solution to lifes toughest times. But our faith will be made perfect because of our sufferings. Without suffering we would never persevere. Without perseverance there would be no character. I don't like trials but I try and rejoice in them because that means more intimacy with my heavenly daddy and the building of my character. Great message!

It's hard sometimes to give over our worries. Sometimes I feel like I NEED to fix something. I need to control it. When in reality I need to be casting my cares upon Him and allowing Him to help me. Allowing Him to work through it. It's a daily process for me. I hope it someday gets easier.
