I Dedicate This Song To: November

Last night before heading to bed, I started thinking about all the blessings and all victories that have taken place in my life over the years. Many of them have occurred in the month of November. So, it’s fitting this month should also be the month we celebrate Thanksgiving.

I woke up this morning with a melody stuck in my head and then the words “You are faithful, God you are faithful.” Although, I knew I’d heard the song many times before I couldn’t remember anymore words than that. I could hear the artist’s voice singing it in my head. And, of course, it was going to bug me until I figured out what song I was humming.

One of the things I am thankful for at this moment, besides the cup of coffee sitting next to me, is Google. I found the song! It’s Matt Redman’s Never Once. I’m glad I decided to search for it because it’s exactly how the month of November makes me feel.

standing on this mountaintop
looking just how far we’ve come
knowing that for every step
you were with us

kneeling on this battle ground
seeing just how much you’ve done
knowing every victory
was your power in us

scars and struggles on the way
but with joy our hearts can say
yes, our hearts can say

never once did we ever walk alone
never once did you leave us on our own
you are faithful, god, you are faithful

scars and struggles on the way
but with joy our hearts can say
never once did we ever walk alone
carried by your constant grace
held within your perfect peace
never once, no, we never walk alone

never once did we ever walk alone
never once did you leave us on our own
you are faithful, god, you are faithful

every step we are breathing in your grace
evermore we’ll be breathing out your praise
you are faithful, god, you are faithful
you are faithful, god, you are faithful

Linking up with Tracy today for Winsome Wednesday.

Hi Eileen – beautiful song. Its so great when God touches us through music that way. I get so little time to listen and lately I’ve been blasting the music while cooking. (could be redeeming my food a little!) Anyway, thank you, precious friend for linking up with me. I’m so glad and encouraged that you did.
God bless and in case I didn’t already tell you, your new blog is awesome!

What a wonderful song. I like Matt’s singing and songs, but had not heard this one. God is faithful!!

He was with us through our 16 y/o son’s death. He was with us when a poacher attacked my husband on our property after dark- cutting off his nose, slashing his stomach open, and collapsing his lung, then stealing his vehicle and leaving him alone to die. My husband survived but miracle after miracle. We literally have had scars on the way.

    But – God was faithful
God has been with us ALWAYS.

    I LOVE this song.

Janet, thank you so much for sharing this! Just this morning in my ladies bible study I was telling the ladies how I know, without a doubt, that God redeems our deepest, most painful hurts. He IS faithful!

My husband and I spent a couple years speaking in churches, telling our story. God was with us when our prayers were not answered, just as he was when our prayers were answered. We experienced his presence when he left us in the storm and when he rescued us from the storm. We KNOW he is faithful.
