Finding Strength

Your salvation requires you to turn back to me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me— (Isaiah 30:15 Message)

Yes – like Sonny, I needed to hear this today – and the Message translation makes it so fresh too. Strength from complete dependence. Wow.

Eileen, this verse reminds me of the song we sang today for worship, I Will Rise, by Chris Tomlin. "I will rise on eagles' wings, before my God fall on my knees and rise." We can rise by falling on our knees, and we become strong by being dependent. Beautiful!

Emma, glad it encouraged you. The Message translation really encouraged me today too! Thanks for your comments.

Lisa, Great song. After I posted this verse today, I went to church and one of the songs we sung was Strength Will Rise as wait upon the Lord. It made me smile.

Isn't that the hard part. Realizing that only when we completely depend on Him is when we will find strength and rest. Thanks for this reminder.
