~Paul Tripp
I’ve come to believe that there is nothing more beautiful in God’s eyes than a surrendered heart.
I love this verse….
In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away! (Luke 15:7 NLT)
In light of reading this verse again I started thinking about how easily we often lump people far from God over in the “hopeless” pile. We see people on a certain path and think how in the world will God ever be able to touch their heart. How will He ever reach them?
Where we might be tempted to see a lost cause, God never does. I often think that if God had to show us His resume to apply for the job as our Savior, here are some of the accomplishments He would list.
I can give sight to people who are blind.
I can find people who once were lost.
I can redeem your life, no matter how far down in that pit you have fallen.
I can restore relationships, no matter how many mistakes you’ve made.
I can raise people from the dead.
If you need references you can contact Jesus, Lazarus, Jonah, David, Peter, Paul, Bartimaeus, the Samaritan woman at the well, the prostitute who cleaned my Son’s feet with her hair…
If you need more references or you would like to see more of my qualifications, let me know…I have a Book full of them!
This was wonderful Eileen… I love that verse as well! I'm so thankful that He has the job! 🙂
Have a Blessed Day!
Great reminders of who Jesus is and how he loves us! Great quote at the beginning too…we all need the internal and spiritual rescue only the Son of Man can give!:)
this is so beautiful, eileen. thank you for reminding me that with God, all things are possible. xo
Love this post! Jesus is more than enough. There is no greater gift I can give my Savior than the gift of a totally surrendered heart.
Love this resume…humbling to be reminded of all that He can and will do for me if I'll let him!
Great post today Eileen, and right on time. It has been little difficult lately and these were words I needed to hear today.
Blessings to you my friend.
Thanks guys! He is definitely more than qualified to take care of us when we choose to give it all to Him.
My favorite part… "if you need further references…" Love it!
