Acknowledge, appreciate, and celebrate your small successes.
This is the reminder I am getting this week while watching my dad slowly recover from his stroke. My family and I are constantly reassuring my dad that he has come a long way in three weeks. He doesn’t see the progress, he only sees the glaring limitations.
What are you frustrated about today? What problem or obstacle is taking longer to overcome then you thought it would take?
Let me encourage you to embrace the small victories along the journey. Little steps in the right direction will add up. Every tiny movement forward is reason to rejoice. Don’t give up.
“One small step…one giant leap.” True in that space walk. True in life. Love that you are continually reassuring your dad he is doing well. Keep going Eileen.
I reassure him and reassure me at the same time.
Kind of like kids asking “are we there yet”. They don’t see the movement. Suddenly, though, we’re there.
very true, Larry.
Hi Eileen – so true. Doesn’t it say in the word somewhere, don’t despise small beginnings? Same with small steps. As you say, each one counts. A whale is eaten one bite at a time 🙂
God bless
Tracy
One bite at a time. One day at a time. Thanks, Tracy.
Awesome attitude, Eileen! Thanks for the encouragement and for sharing through your current situation… you rock.
Praying for your dad, Eileen.
Wow, thanks for your support of me today without even knowing! My post today says it all. You must be speaking to me, (lol) 🙂
