Why I Breathed a Sigh of Relief This Morning

“If each of My children would seek to please Me above all else, fear of others’ judgement would vanish, as would attempts to impress others.  Focus your attention on the path just ahead of you and on the One who never leaves your side.” ~Jesus Calling

I don’t know about you, but when I read the above quote this morning, I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief.

THIS is my job today.

My job is not to please you.  My job is not to fret and worry about what you think of me.

I have one job…and this is it.  One reason I felt relief…and even slightly giddy after reading this reminder is because the ONE I am invited to follow today has an AMAZING track record of loving me, of forgiving me, of sticking by me through the ups and downs, and of accepting me just as I am.

Embrace that truth today.  Embrace Him today.

I read “Jesus Calling” along with you each morning, Eileen. Sarah Young wakes me up gently. Only after I’m feeling all loved by Jesus, can I open Oswald Chambers’ “My Utmost for His Highest” and prepare to get whacked upside the head with the harder truths! I do so love that early morning reminder from Jesus first!
